Why does your heart beat faster when you peer into a dark room? What makes the hair on your neck bristle when something invisible whispers in your ear? And why do you jump when something that should not be real appears in the corner of your vision? Welcome to Twisted Lands: Shadow Town, the first game in a new saga that will explore the emotion of fear.

In Twisted Lands: Shadow Town, the player guides the actions of a man whose small boat has crashed on a deserted island. Although his wife was with him, she's missing when he regains consciousness on the beach. As he gathers his wits, he sees a large ship in the distance with a hole ripped through its hull. While he wonders what could have torn through the vessel, his desire to find his spouse is greater than his fear of the unknown, so he heads in that direction. As the man explores the island, he'll gather hidden items, solve mind-bending puzzles and make one spine-chilling discovery after another as he draws toward a shocking conclusion!

I understand nonlinear type of a story but this is too much in the worst way. I played it, understood nothing. I played the Collector's Edition version, understood nothing. I don't recommend it at all, the only thing that you understand is that the Island is famous for it's fog, disappearances and monsters, this is not enough to even worth a single dollar. In the game you have to save yourself Well I'm saving your time in reality by writing this, don't even try it, it's not worth it. I'm sparing you of wasting hours on this thing. I know it's harsh but someone has to be, play Vampireville, Puppet Show(any from the serie), Dark Parables, any of these are worth playing but this, NO. At this point this serie is the worst I have ever had the misfortune to encounter it. Not even the art is well made, it looks so lazily made.

A fascinating mystery with good visuals. The music was good, but suspenseful at sometimes odd moments that didn't seem to warrant tense music. There is a lot of backtracking, but the hidden object scenes, the puzzles, and the story are worth it. Much of the story of the town's past is told through journal entries and the occasional newspaper clipping. Figuring out what happened in the past and what's happening now was the best part of the game. I look forward to playing the sequel and the prequel.
