took me 8.5 hours to get through the whole game. pretty straight forward, cute aspects and features, but nothing too fancy. if you are looking for a game that guides you through the process until the end, this is exactly for you, if you are looking for a free game to experience all by yourself, this might not be your game

This is a great entry to survival/management games. It is more about managing people as the "build" aspect is static {when you click on a structure to build, it is placed for you. I actually like this). There are some interesting mini games built in - a tetris style puzzle for the houses to allow more residents to stay, an Angry Birds for ship combat. I already played 40hrs (at the time of this review, and there is still another half of the island to explore.
Everything else is your basic DF style play. Citizens have fav jobs they like, hunger, and more.
Like most Alaware games, they are simple but enjoyable to play - get this.
Similar games: The Happy Hereafter, Gemini Lost
The only annoying thing in the game that makes it a downer, is that it doesn't keep playing when you alt-tab out, pauses on the multiple advisor. In order to do anything, you have to keep the game in focus. REALLY HATE THAT. Devs should fix that. Or at least give it an option to run in the background.

TOP GAME! Seriously, this is one gem in my >all time< TOP TEN.
Gaming is a high priority for me in the last 30 years, and there are tons of AAA games – mainly challenging strategy titles – where I do not bother to waste much of my time. But “Promised Land” I enjoy day after day, and then – with a break of some months – again (and again …).
Normally I am not into easy, casual games. Me, looking for challenge, doing mods for more balance and more challenge. But this little gem is exceptional imo, just perfect.
It has some charm, attracts me somehow (like with falling in love).
There are so many “little things”, details …
It is fantastic, how the figures are walking, are talking. Just lovely.
Not enough challenge? Read my guide to create some for yourself.
Do I recommend it?
Absolutely YES.
And for this little price – don’t waste time to wait for a reduction. Try it now ?

I like managing resources and that's all this game is pretty much. This one is cute and easy. Aside from picking who works were, there aren't a lot of choices so that makes is less fun than similar games. The workers are pretty much all the same but some are terrible. Your work request is treasure hunting?! GET IN THE MINES, Sharon. Maybe you can find something in there. Like a rock.

I remember to playing this as a child, well- a lot of years come by and it's still a cool, relaxing game providing about 11 hours of fun to complete in 100% for a small amount of pesos!

Exquisite little colony building game. I enjoyed it fully! Reminds me of the legendary Settlers series. It is a relaxing resources management/building game, but also challenging and fun, because you always lack some resources, you always have to assign workers on tasks - whichs means you can't rest even for a second! If you neglect some production lines, the whole production piramid can get messed up, meaning get to a halt untill you resolve the problem. The game also has a pirate shooting mini-game, which is very simple and inspired by "crash the castle" games. The music and graphics are okey-dokey.

I played until I finished and let me tell you it was fun. I wish there were more games out there like this one. The art is cute and the music is enjoyable. Managing whether to make a worker, or a builder is the challenge. Also selling goods to town when the time is right seems to keep me in coin and crowns. Patience was the key. Just being patient enough to let things build up so you can then sell tons of it to town.

A simple one, colourful and good to learn strategy basics for kids. Gathering, farming, mining, building, trading, research - everything adult strategies have, except military tactics. Easy learning curve, though kids might need some advices, especially if they don't like reading... On other hand, it actually makes them read... at least a bit. If you are looking for an easy strategy game for children around 7-10 years old, this one should be fine.

Adorable little city builder. I wish there were more casual games like this one for when I need to not murder anyone.
