Path of Sin: Greed
Detective adventure from 2018.

For their first assignment, a new detective and her experienced colleague arrive at the scene of the accident - a luxurious island in the middle of the sea. The seemingly routine case turns into a story full of greed and intrigue. The suicide case reveals several murders.
(shortened by developer)

It's a hidden object detective adventure with some good mini-games & hidden object images.
Let's take a closer look, because it's worth it.

Hidden object pictures, some are included. They are rather heavy.
Mini-games, some easy, several difficult.
Wayfinding, consistently easy.
Detective work, tricky but not too difficult.

There is help for every situation and everywhere and there is also an overview map.
Grooving these makes sense as it saves a lot of time.
The story you can play is complex and well told.
A very realistic game with lots of good cards.
In any case, it has my recommendation. Really fun.

Play this one for the cool detective theme. There seem to be a scarcity of these in the AM collection which is dominated by tales of fantasy, fable and mythology. Characters are cut-out dolls, but that's not new to AM. Not a lot to say here other than the voice acting is decent, you get plenty of hours for your money if you catch this one on sale, artwork is nice and the murder plot, while not on the Holmes-ian level of complexity, is definitely substantial enough to support the storyline. Odd that I just glanced at the title art and realized the MC is a female. Huh. And I considered myself observant.... AND I still finished this game! Lol.

Standard Artifex Mundi's HOG, but with a quite boring story. You are on a private island to do a (bland) murder investigation in the big house of a wealthy man... and the clues to solve the case are in many places in the house and, for no logical reason, they are often hidden behind strange mechanisms.

This is possibly the best Artifex Mundi game I have played as of late. Cordelia Games, the game developers took the next steps in both hidden object scenes as well as storyline. In this iteration of the hidden object adventures, you are a nameless female inspector working with an investigator on an island where a body has suddenly shown up on the shores. The body was of a guest of the island frequented by very wealthy and well to do individuals. Everyone is a suspect and you must figure out who is the murderer. There are twists to the story as you find more clues and get deeper into the investigation. You must find clues, take pictures, and eventually put together your evidence to prove that the suspect is guilty.

The storyline definitely stayed relevant throughout and was difficult to ignore unlike most other games of the same genre. The hidden object scenes also seemed to be a step above the norm with some very new and exciting scenes with tons of objects. I especially liked the mosaic scene as well which really stood out with the bright colors they used. Also the inventory puzzles were vast. There was so much to do in so little amount of locations to have access to. I also enjoyed that because it was a mystery and an island, the game started in a small amount of locations and expanded those locations while still mostly having access to the original locations too. And those original locations still had actions that needed to be taken in them in order to keep moving forward.

While it's not anything to say it was innovative or that it sets a new standard, I'm definitely left thinking that Cordelia Games has found a great road map for making a great hidden object adventure game and I hope they continue on this path for their future games. Fun game and with easy achievements too.

I will provide one negative. I didn't like how you, the main character doing all of the investigation, never say a word, and never is given a name or even talked to directly. The investigator you work with talks a whole lot, but it's almost as if you are non-existent and never truly appreciated for the work you do. I don't know, it was a strange feeling throughout the game especially since in other Artifex Mundi games, typically you hear your character make remarks or engage with other NPCs, but this was very disconnected from the conversations and obviously so.

Loved the story, puzzles, graphics. Sometimes the dialogue was a bit corny. Overall, however, great storyline.
