Merchants of the Caribbean - casual game of 2021.

Young Englishman Jack Savvy decides to build a trading empire in the Caribbean. But between Savvy and his success stands the greedy pirate Fallen Henry, who is attacking him for his ship and resources. In the heat of the moment, the evil pirate manages to tear off part of a real treasure map that miraculously ended up with Jack. And now the young trader must beat the pirate in the race for the secret treasure chest! (Developer)

Unlike other games in the genre, Merchants of the Caribbean focuses on trading. Of course, the settlers also have to build bridges and roads, remove obstacles and sell the collected resources. Besides building a farm, quarry, and forest cabin, you can also construct processing buildings, which are more expensive and better suited for future production. For example, you can make bread from cornflowers by constructing a special building and having a small amount of gold and an available worker. Any building can be demolished and replaced with a new building. This is very useful when the market is saturated with certain types of products and their price falls. (Editor)

It's easy for me here, everything has already been said about the game. This game also includes naval battles that are repeated over and over again. This is rarely silly and far from fun. Also constantly new treasure chest searches against time. Fun looks different. You can do it but you don't have to. In fact, the gameplay is significantly different, but not bad. The main thing here is to get the best prices on the market. Everything after the moth more and more. I don't really like it. However, the cards are very well made and require brain power to meet the specifications. I can only recommend it.

This is a tough one to evaluate. I think if it wasn't an Alawar game I might actually give it a thumbs up. I have certain expectations of Alawar games being breezy and fun, casual and pleasant. This, however, is a highly complex strategy simulation where you have production chains such that you have to plant corn, turn it into flour, then turn it into bread, and so on, while still racing the usual time-management clock to get 3 stars per level. You also have a brutal RNG bunch of mandatory sea battles and some equally hard treasure chest mazes; couple this with a marketplace where demand goes down a dollar every time you sell something (but your factory and supply costs are fixed) and the end result is a game where you always feel behind the curve. And so I give it a thumbs down.

“The 16th century. Brave Jack Savvy sailed to the Caribbean from England, eager to build his settlement and develop a successful business on fertile lands. After a long voyage, there was hope: according to the map, the shores of the New World were close. Suddenly, the crew noticed pirates pursuing them! Jack hurried to reach the land, but the pirate ship was too fast. They could already hear the bandits’ laughter. This is how the story of Jack and his crew begins in a new land. All hands-on deck!”

Your adventure begins with a Sea Battle, attacked by pirates you must defeat the pirates by destroying their ship, while repairing yours at the same time. To defeat the pirates, you are required to click on a cannon, this will send one of your crew to fire the cannon at the pirate ship. It takes a small amount of time before you’re able to fire your cannon again. The pirates being the blighters they are, will fire back at you and cause damage to your ship, they will also throw ropes to climb across and place bombs on your deck. Like with firing the cannons clicking on any damage, bombs and ropes your crew will deal with them. If you don’t deal with the quickly enough your ship will lose health and if it runs out before the pirates does then your ship goes boom! Should you win the sea battle then you will gain a reward which will improve your ship for later battles.

They’ll be a few more Sea Battles as you progress through the game, main levels in the game will have you complete various objectives. On each of the levels you will start from a base, here you will send out your workers to remove obstacles on the winding pathways. The obstacles such as crates, stone, wood require a number of resources in order for you to collect them and you will receive some different resources in return.

Scattered around each level are places where you can construct buildings, these buildings will bring in much needed resources. You have basic Raw Materials like Corn, Cotton, Flax, Stone, Clay, Wood, Herbs and Cocoa. These resources will accumulate automatically and be stored, they can then be sold on the market. There are other buildings which you can construct that will bring greater profits by turning the Raw Materials in to other Materials and then in to Goods. Such as farming Corn will allow you to produce Flour for three Corn and Fifteen gold. This Flour can then be used to create Bread once you have constructed the right buildings. The Materials and Goods buildings are in short supply compared to where you can produce the Raw Materials so, some planning may be required. However, you are able to dismantle buildings already built and replace them with new ones. There are several different types of Totems, which will slow you down or scare your workers away from their duties.

Each time you construct a new building it will require a worker to run it, so you’ll have to stay on top of how many workers you have otherwise you’ll have none to do the running around for you. You can recruit more with a few pennies and they will take a few seconds before you can use them. Once you’ve completed a level you will gain Stars depending on how well you did as well as add the amount of gold you made to your overall total.

Along with the game levels and sea battles there’s a couple other places to visit on the world map. One is Comics which will allow you to review the story at any time once you have access. The other is Chest Island, here if you can unlock all the chests on the islands before time runs out, you’ll be rewarded with upgrades to your ship.

In the options you’ll find settings for Music and Sounds Volume Sliders, Full Screen, Cursor and Tutorial On/Off. Also here is the game Difficulty setting, either Easy (An easy game mode with no limitations. It’s the easiest way to earn stars.) and Normal (A normal mode for players familiar with casual games.)

There are twenty-four levels to complete along with ten sea battles and ten chest islands. There are also some bonus levels upon completing the main story.

Fun little time management game with mini games. You go to each island and gather resources and disable totems with objectives to complete and all in a time limit.
Then the mini games: one is you on ship and pirate ship has come and you have to shoot cannons and repair ship at same time, if pirate damage bar goes to zero - you win, if you run out of energy - pirates win (you get energy from repairing the holes the pirate ship makes - but you do run out of repair materials at some point) and at same time the pirate ship throws ropes with anchors on your ship and little men with bombs walk over. If that bomb goes off on your ship, you lose. **Little hint** you don't have to remove all the anchors (it takes alot of energy) just click on the little men on rope till they disappear before they drop the bomb.
The second mini game after the ship is the one that gets a little harder later and requires sufficient time management and planning , as you have to get all the chests to be able to move on to the next level. There was only 2 of those chest stages that i had to play over a few times to make it.
After the last stage, the bonus stages open. Those were fairly easy until the last bonus chest stage - that one is incredibly difficult.

I liked this game just fine, it was really fun up until the point that I hit a game breaking bug, you can't upgrade the ship because there is nothing to upgrade it with, it's like that part of the game was left out, and if you can't upgrade the ship then you can't win the battles as you progress up the levels, so it's dead in the water, pardon the pun. That's it!

Solid, casual, time management game. Ive played several games from the developer and Merchants of the Caribbean is my favorite so far. 5-6 hours to complete the main story and another ? for the bonus missions that unlock afterwards.

If you like casual games, this is a good one! No micro-transactions. At 2.2 hours I'm about halfway through.
