It's a very fun game. Action packed, but also creative. You can pick it up just for half an hour, to do something in your world, or you can immerse yourself fully into it and play for long periods. It also works great on old computers.

Terraria is often lazily described as 2D Minecraft, but that is like calling a Swiss Army knife a fancy toothpick. While you do start by chopping down trees and building a wooden shack to survive the night, it doesn't take long for the game to reveal its true identity: a massive, progression-focused combat RPG where you spend your time murdering cosmic horrors to craft boots that let you run on water. It is a world of infinite verticality where you can dig all the way down to the literal pits of hell or build a staircase into the heavens to fight harpies.

The sense of progression here is genuinely unparalleled. You start as a fragile person with a copper shortsword, but after a dozen hours, you are a winged demi-god wielding a sword that shoots cats or a staff that summons a miniature dragon to fight for you. I found the "Hardmode" transition to be one of the most brilliant mid-game twists in history; once you defeat a specific boss, the entire world fundamentally changes, introducing new biomes, much harder enemies, and materials that make your previous gear look like cardboard. It’s a game that constantly dangles a new carrot in front of you - a faster pickaxe, a better wing set, or a more efficient mechanical brain-minion.

The sheer volume of content is staggering. There are over 5,000 items to find, craft, or loot, and nearly 30 bosses that range from giant floating eyeballs to Lovecraftian deities. The world feels alive, too - NPCs move into the houses you build, each bringing unique services like alchemy, demolition, or questionable fashion advice. Whether you are a "builder" who wants to create a sprawling gothic castle or a "warrior" who just wants to see how many monsters you can melt with a flamethrower, Terraria gives you the tools to break the game in your own specific way.

10/10. It is the ultimate "sink-hole" game. You will sit down at 8:00 PM to organize your chests and blink only to find the sun rising and your inventory full of glowing mushrooms and ancient fossils. It is a masterpiece of sandbox design that has been lovingly updated for over a decade.

Watch out for the falling stars, keep your torches lit, and remember: if the guide tells you not to do something, you should probably do it immediately.

Its a really addictive game and I just can't stop playing it. It has a lot of things so I had to look up a lot of stuff online every time I played but it ended up being one of the fun things about the game. Though, because of being careless, I ended up dying quite a number of times but that's part of the grind, I guess. Give it a shot and I am sure you'll end up liking it too.

one of my favorite games, very nostalgic, i used to play this game when I was 14 in middle school and id fight my friends and race to see who could get the cool items in terraria first. we played on school ipads which wasnt supposed to happen, but there was a kid in our middle school who figured out how to bypass the schools app store blocker and we downloaded terraria and had a blast with it. just like Minecraft its a classic and both are games i will always come back to once in a while just to play it.

Love this game the way that every time playing can and will be a different and unique experience. That said... if I have to make a new character and mine the hardmode ores ONE MORE TIME I am going to lose it.
