Another great hidden object game similar to Family Secrets. Although the music track is about the same as the other game, it's nice and pleasant despite being repetitive. The game-play is also enjoyable and it's nice that tough puzzles can be skipped. I especially liked the story of the extra game (after completing the main). Highly recommended!

This is a good HOG (Hidden Object Game) with some great graphics, good background music, good story line, and great game play.

Positives; Lots of locations to explore. Lots of hidden object mini games. Game play offers hints, a strategy guide, and a location status map. Bonus section follows completion of the main game. The game is somewhat anti-climatic at the conclusion, but still enjoyable to play.

Negatives; Game appears to only support 4:3 ratio resolution. Installed this game on 3 different computers and all 3 came up in a 4:3 resolution instead of filling the more modern widescreen 16:9 monitors. Game does offer different monitor resolution settings and options, but still unable to take advantage of entire monitor screen real estate.

Fair: two difficulty modes, hidden object scenes, (word only), mini-puzzles
Average: story, artwork/scenes, adventure play
Poor: atmosphere, unlockable toolbar, below average length
Glitches: had trouble getting it to fit my screen; had to redo every time I opened the game; hidden object coffee pot could not be clicked on (but object by it could for acquirement)
Final words: found the main game flat (bonus chapter more entertaining)

Enjoyed this game, although the spacing between the hidden objects mini-games were a bit too close for me (not enough padding between to change it up a little). Still, it was a fun time, and it was nice to finally meet Gabriel and save him :)

Highly recommended for HOG fans. This is part two of the four part series. I really felt like this had a great flow and was very polished. The graphics and audio are great and the voice acting and cinematics are decent for the time they were made, but slightly dated by today's standards. The puzzles, HOG scenes and the locations had a nice variety. The story is more put together this time, with a connection between each chapter feeling more cohesive. I don't have much to mark this one down for as it stands up very well compared to other hidden objects games.

I’d probably go with a mixed review if I could. This game is the second in the series for House of 1000 Doors and it’s not that much different from the first one. It’s not terrible for a hidden object game, but there is some pixel-hunting. I thought that the story ended rather abruptly, but I'll go with a thumbs up because the map lets you instantly travel between locations and a walkthrough is included.

I was disappointed with one of the sliding puzzles in the bonus chapter where the blocks are different sizes. I’m not a big fan of sliding puzzles to begin with, but I decided to try it anyway. I got stuck, so I wanted to see what the solution was, but the walkthrough doesn’t give the solution. It just says, “Arrange the blocks in the correct order”. This game doesn’t have achievements, so you can just skip the mini-games if you want, but if they’re going to have a walkthrough, then they should actually list all the steps. For example, block A left, block B down, block C left and so on. I surprised myself by actually solving the puzzle eventually, but I’m still not a big fan of sliding puzzles.

Alright! Second game to continue the interesting story of the House and its residents and all the unique ghosties in need of help. Once more the House calls upon you to help, as a new evil emerged. You gotta go and take care of it, as you get to travel to new locations and find items that aid you in your quest.

The graphics/sounds/designs/effects/everything (including cut scenes) are just great for this game. If you liked the first one, you will enjoy the continuation. At least I did... I had to learn more of the story and characters!!! Oh and the "Find the Similarities" is back!!! That's my favorite puzzle!

Yes, it is an older game, but it is fun and people who worked on it, knew their material and enjoyed making it. So if you like H.O.G (Hidden Object Games) and don't need everything to look bright and flashy, then judge for yourself. Thank you for the wonderful sequel of a game!
